As Hotel Post has been in our family for more than 200 years, hospitality and the love for the hotel industry are deeply rooted in our tradition. We are passionate about what we do and not only manage things behind the scenes but also cherish direct interactions with our guests.

DISCOVER OUR HISTORY
Tradition meets modernity
Spanning over a period of more than 200 years of the Wrann family’s history at Hotel Post, we look back on a long tradition as hosts. Yet, we surely haven't remained stuck in time. On the contrary, we carry on what generations before us have created, while focusing our actions on the present and future in our aspiration towards continuously setting new standards.
First mentioned in documents in 1767 and bestowed with the so-called "Wirtsgerechtigkeit" (landlord rights) granted by the Counts of Dietrichstein in 1787, our hotel has evolved over the generations into a place, where tradition and modernity blend seamlessly. To make our history more graspable, we have diligently explored our archives. The result, including an ancestry wall, is now visible on canvas throughout our hotel – history to experience up close!
A SPECIAL PLACE
More than 200 years of history
For those who can't wait until their visit to learn more about the history of our establishment, follow along. After being granted the "Wirtsgerechtigkeit" in 1787, the formerly called Gasthaus zur Post, served as a hostel for travelers on the Vienna-Venice (Trieste - Gorizia) mail route in the subsequent years until 1836, when it was renamed Gasthof zum Oberrichter (Chief Justice’s Inn), as Philipp Wrann held this esteemed position.
With the establishment of the Southern Railway route, tourism in the Wörthersee region flourished, attracting numerous prominent guests who became regular "summer vacationers." After being affected by both world wars, the property was rebuilt, and the private hotel group known as Wrann Hotels was expanded to also include Seehotel Europa (in Velden) and Hotel Bergkristall (in Oberlech).
Additionally, a public lido, the so-called Strandbad Wrann, is also part of the hotel.
